Hello, my name is Amir and I’m glad you’re here! My goal in co-creating Bhava was to build a nurturing environment and a healing home for both therapists and clients alike. Guiding the professional growth of our team of amazing therapists and the healing process for our clients we have the privilege to serve is one of my greatest joys in life.
For me, working in the field of mental health is a calling, and while incredibly rewarding, it is a role that is not without its challenges. Additionally, it is a role with unlimited learning and growth potential. Despite having decades of experience in organizational leadership and management, direct clinical work and clinical supervision, program creation, multiple presentations at national conferences, and in my day to day role as Co-Founder and Clinical Director, I never stop learning, growing and evolving. It is this passion for this field and the growth inherent in it, that I hope to pass on to all I have the privilege to work with.

Well-versed in many psychotherapeutic theories and models of care, I have learned most from the courageous clients that I have had the honor to work with throughout my 25+ years of practice. My approach to care is eclectic, holistic and collaborative. I believe that therapists and the clients alike flourish only when they are genuinely supported and cared for. It is most gratifying for me to be able to support our team of therapists in honing their innate strengths and in cultivating their unique therapeutic style and voice. Over the years, I have witnessed many individuals overcome tremendous pain and challenges with dedication, commitment, awareness and compassionate support.

The goal of therapy is to provide the conditions for clients to connect to their innate wisdom and inner resources and are empowered to have an active role in their treatment process. I greatly value equality, diversity and inclusion and fully enjoy working with a range of diverse clients from various backgrounds and the LGBTQ+ community.

I completed my PhD at Yeshiva University, I am certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and currently completing a training program in Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy.

Hello and welcome! My name is Veronica. I am the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Bhava Therapy Group, a group psychotherapy practice filled with heart and soul and a nationally accredited provider of continuing education for mental health providers. Whether practicing as an integrative psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, organizational consultant, course instructor, mentor, business manager and entrepreneur (I do wear a lot of hats!), I am driven by my profound respect for and curiosity in the human condition and our innate capacity for resilience, realization and evolution. The belief that we are here to impact one another positively and help others heal, learn and grow guides me in all aspects of my life’s work, choices and personal journey.
Forever curious, grounded and accepting, I bring a sense of attuned empathy and playful yet practical approaches to my work. I strive to inspire and challenge my clients to discern, listen to and trust their unique inner guides on their journey towards their best selves. Yoga, Buddhist meditation and the arts have been profound, guiding sources for me for many decades and inform much of my approach to life. Between my daily practices, and my training in multiple models of somatic and experiential psychotherapy, my ability to connect deeply and authentically with every human being I meet with is forever evolving and strengthening. Whether working with a couple, an individual or a team of professionals at an organization, I provide a safe and open space in which my clients can explore their truths, gain clarity around core issues and discover new, healthier ways of relating to themselves and the others in their lives.

I completed my Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at Villanova University, my Masters of Social Work at New York University, and post-masters training at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy, New York University Advanced Practicum, EMDR, Focusing. Danielle is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in both NY & NJ who also holds a Certificate in Integrated Mental Health & Addictions Treatment. Having obtained a B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh and a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University, Danielle began working with BHAVA as a psychotherapist in 2017 before transitioning into an administrative and supervisory role in 2020. She has over a decade of clinical experience working in a variety of settings including Private Practice, Outpatient Mental Health Programs, Inpatient Psychiatry, and Inpatient Substance Abuse Rehabilitation. Danielle strives to help BHAVA run smartly and efficiently.

I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to support people through anxiety, grief, life transitions, and personal growth. I bring experience from a range of settings including outpatient mental health programs, college counseling centers, and private practice. As the Director of Compliance, I also support Bhava behind the scenes helping the practice run smoothly, so that both clients and therapists feel seen and supported.

At the heart of my work is the belief that we are in this world to uplift one another and leave a positive imprint through connection, understanding, and care. In our work together, I will use a blend of approaches like IFS, CBT, somatic work, psychodynamic therapy, and more. Working with me means having a therapist that listens intuitively, provides guidance, and supports you in reaching your goals.

Bailey Lynn Brown, LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker from the Finger Lakes. I earned my master’s degree through Simmons’ University. I have experience working in outpatient and inpatient mental health facilities, as well as in schools. I show up for clients with warmth, curiosity, and unconditional positive regard to create a space of understanding without judgement. I work with adolescents, adults, couples and families, on a variety of concerns including but not limited to trauma healing, attachment style work, anxiety, depression, grief, codependency, postpartum/motherhood challenges, and life stage challenges. I also provide clinical supervision to other therapists here at BHAVA as well.

My passion is helping people improve their mind-body connection, heal relationships, create an improved sense of self, develop self-acceptance, and create a healthy relationship with their feelings. I believe therapy can open opportunities for your mind and body to become one and reach your highest potential. I use an eclectic collection of different evidence based therapy methods to help clients access their potential starting with a patient-centered/strengths based approach, infused with somatic sensing, methods of trauma informed care, positive psychology, family systems, andmindfulness.

I am a holistic and trauma therapist that provides individual & group therapy to adults navigating relational and complex trauma, anxiety, codependency, people pleasing, and perfectionism!

My other passion includes providing clinical supervision to therapists to support them in growing both personally and professionally. I hold my MSW from New York University and have been a therapist and group leader in IOP/PHP settings, group practice, and in my own private practice.

My supervision style is relational, compassionate, and grounded in trauma-informed care. I support my supervisees in developing clinical insight, confidence, and navigating imposter syndrome! Together, we explore countertransference, how to support without over-extending, showing up authentically in the therapy room, all while learning to take care of ourselves and tending our own nervous systems. Therapeutically, I integrate somatic therapy, EMDR, mindful self compassion with a foundation of a relational approach as I also bring in humor and my human self!

Supervision is a space where we hold both the complexities of client work and the inner work that comes with being a therapist! I love helping clinicians find who they are as professionals and aligning with their own authenticity & intuition. This work is deeply meaningful and I aim to provide that space for supervisees to grow, find passion, and sustainability. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I earned my masters degree at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and have experience working in outpatient and inpatient mental health settings, and in schools. In work with clients, I predominantly draw from my experience training at the Ackerman institute for the Family and the Metropolitan Institute for Training in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I work with adolescents and adults to manage a range of problems including anxiety, depression, and trauma related disorders, as well as relationship and life stage challenges. I provide clinical supervision to other therapists on the Bhava team.

I show up for clients with compassion and curiosity in order to create a space in which, together, we can gain a deeper understanding of experiences you’ve had, challenges you face, and strengths you possess. I hold a Master’s Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook. My professional background includes work in a community mental health clinic serving individuals across the lifespan, as well as with older adults in supportive housing. I currently work with adults to help them navigate a wide range of challenges, including life transitions, anxiety disorders, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, and trauma.

I am deeply committed to providing affirming, inclusive care and work with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, striving to create a space that feels safe and welcoming. My therapeutic style is individualized and integrative, drawing from Psychodynamic Therapy, Strengths-Based Perspective, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy. I am a mental health counselor with a MA and EdM in mental health counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a BA in psychology from UConn. I have worked in an outpatient treatment center for substance abuse and addiction and have experience with individual and group therapy settings while there. I currently work with a wide range of clients both in age and in diversity and am always open to working with new populations although I have a special interest in working with the AAPI community.

I have an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning that I use different therapy modalities as well employing different evidence-based treatments to optimize the session for the client. I believe that each client is unique and requires an individualized treatment that caters to their specific needs. I believe that unconditional positive regard and believing in my clients are essential and think of therapy as a collaboration of growth. That is because I believe that there is no better expert than the client themselves in informing me of their lives so that I may better assist them.

I was born in the US but have moved back and forth between the US and South Korea, making me what is known as a Third Culture Kid with intimate knowledge of both cultures while still never fully belonging to solely one culture. It alerted me the importance of perspective as I was able to experience living both as a minority and as part of the majority. As such, I realize the importance of culture and being culturally sensitive and therefore place a strong emphasis on being culturally competent.

Hey there, I’m Ericka! I’m a student from Washington Heights, currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling at NYU. Mental health is my bread and butter, and I’ve always held the notion that the mind is physical. I strongly believe in advocating for mental health and holding it to the same pedestal as physical health, as the mind and body are connected and can only work in tandem with each other!

Most recently, I spent some time volunteering for Crisis Text Line as a Crisis Counselor, working through crises with varying demographics by instilling safety intervention tools and ensuring that the person I’m talking to can get access to the long term services they need.

Coming from a diverse background, I carry my Dominican heritage and life experiences with me into all of the work I do, using empathy as my main informant for all the people I connect with daily and desire to help. I also work with couples facing issues around communication, intimacy, infidelity, and significant life changes. Additionally, I facilitate an ongoing support group for male survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
