Psychotherapist

Hello and welcome! My name is Lauren, and I am a psychotherapist dedicated to supporting children, teens, young adults, and their families. I earned my Master of Social Work from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, and my Bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College, where I studied Education, Creative Writing, and Dance. These studies continue to inform my work today, as I often bring creativity, play, and imagination into the therapy room.  I have always been drawn to helping children and young people navigate life’s challenges. My clinical work has included school-based counseling for students experiencing anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges, as well as empowering neurodivergent children in specialized settings. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the resilience of young people and the importance of meeting them exactly where they are.

  • My Approach

In my practice, I take a collaborative approach that blends various modalities, such as Strengths-Based Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. With children, I often integrate play therapy and art therapy as tools for expression and healing. With teens and young adults, I focus on building self-awareness, confidence, and the practical tools they need to navigate life’s challenges. I also value working closely with parents and families, believing that growth and healing happen most powerfully in connection with others.

    What To Expect

As a therapist, I bring warmth, empathy, and creativity to my work. I strive to create a space where my clients feel safe, seen, and supported as they explore their emotions, discover their strengths, and build skills for self-advocacy and resilience. My goal is not only to help clients move through challenges, but also to empower them to step into their fullest potential. Outside of my professional work, I continue to be inspired by the arts, movement, and creativity, which ground and energize me both personally and professionally. These passions shape the lens through which I view healing—as a process that is dynamic, expressive, and deeply human.
