Hello! I am Bailey Brown, a Licensed Master of Social Work from the Finger Lakes, practicing virtually with my clients in the NYC area. My passion is helping adults, couples, adolescents, and families to improve their emotional awareness in an effort to increase their mind-body connection, heal relationships, create an improved sense of self, and create a healthy relationship with their feelings. I believe therapy can open opportunities to your mind and body so you can reach your highest potential. Having worked in a variety of different mental health environments such as community mental clinics, hospital based outpatient, addiction, as well as school environments I instinctually create a comfortable, safe, warm, and non judgemental space where you can develop insight and skills needed to overcome whatever challenges you face so you can accomplish your goals, find balance, and fulfillment.
I use an eclectic collection of different evidence based therapy methods to help clients access their potential starting with a patient-centered/strengths based approach, infused with somatic sensing, methods of trauma informed care, positive psychology, family systems, mindfulness training, cognitive behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. Working collaboratively with you is essential to the way I practice psychotherapy.
To be the best versions of ourselves we have to examine who we are, where we have been, and our relationships with others and our environments. I believe this journey can feel fulfilling, exciting, scary, frustrating, and everything in between. I believe normalizing all of these feelings as steps in the journey is what allows us to grow and heal.
