As therapists and counselors, talking through matters with our clients is our most relied upon method for trying to help them. Yet, talking alone can sometimes only get us so far. This workshop will provide space for participants to explore different ways for using creative and expressive arts techniques and experiential methods for getting to the deeper layers and clarification of issues. Learn techniques that can be used in both the teletherapy space and in-person treatment settings.

11:00-11:15 am – Introduction, review of learning objectives and definition of expressive arts and experiential approaches utilizing experiential grounding exercise

11:15-11:25 am – Distinguish right brain from left brain processing and practice with examples

11:25-12:15 pm – Discuss and demonstrate the first 5 type of expressive arts and experiential approaches including: art, music/sound, mantra, visual stimuli, writing

12:15-12:25 pm – Break

12:25-1:30 pm – Discuss and demonstrate the remaining 3 type of expressive arts and experiential approaches including: movement, role-play and dreams

1:30-1:40 pm – Q&A and conclusion

If you are a licensed practicing social worker or mental health counselor or licensed professional counselor practicing in any of the 50 United States or in Canada, you will earn 2.5 continuing education credits for completing this course. Our CE Courses are nationally accredited by ASWB for Social Workers and by the NBCC for Mental Health and Licensed Professional Counselors and in New York State by the NY State Education Department. This course is suitable for all levels of clinicians.

Meet Your Instructor

Veronica Vaiti, LCSW-R, CCATP

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Veronica Vaiti is a NY State Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Bhava Therapy Group.

First introduced to the wisdom inherent in using expressive arts and experiential practices in psychotherapy while a graduate student at NYU, Veronica began studying at the Gestalt Associates for psychotherapy and throughout her career has incorporated the teachings of Lucia Cappachione and other notable expressive art therapists in her work with her clients. The power of this work is found at the intersection of risk, play and discovery made possible by having no agenda. Whether serving as an integrative psychotherapist, mentor, consultant or instructor, Veronica is driven by her profound respect for and curiosity in the human condition and believes in our innate creative capacity for resilience, realization and evolution.


Can I take this class if I have no experience with couples or are currently not working with couples?
Prior or current experience with couples is not required in order to participate in this class. Whenever we work with our individual clients, we also learn about their partners and intimate relationships. While this class offers insights and interventions specific to couples, any therapist working with human beings will benefit from this class.

I’m a seasoned couples therapist, would I gain anything from taking this class?
While the word “Introduction” is used in the title, this class provides a synthesis of a number of different approaches to couples work and provides a new lens through which to work with couples developed from Veronica’s 25+ years of experience as a couples therapist. There is most certainly something to gain from taking this class.

Will participating in this class provide me with certification as an expressive arts therapist?
This class is designed and accredited to provide continuing education credits and teach skills and practices utilized by expressive arts therapists but it does not provide or meet criteria to provide certification as an expressive arts therapist.

How do I gain access to and sign up for continuing education classes?
All of our CE courses – Live Virtual & Pre-Recorded Self-Paced classes – are hosted on an online class platform called “THINKIFIC” This is a secure, password protected hosting platform that allows for protection and easy access to all of the courses and your course completion certificates you earn through your learning with us. Will I need to have a Thinkific account to take classes?
Yes. When you sign up for your first class with us, whether it is a Live-Virtual class or a Pre-recorded class, you will be prompted to enter a valid email address. The email address you use at this first point of registration and class purchase will be saved as your “username”. You will then be prompted to create a password. Save this email address and password, this will be your access to our online CE program.

Will I be able to see my past courses and future courses?
Yes, every class that you have taken and completed as well as future, upcoming courses you have registered will be saved in your personal, secure, password protected online class account.

I did not receive a link to the video session for the online class. How do I access the online Zoom class?
The Zoom link for the CE class is stored as a module within the class framework on the online class platform, so you will not receive an email with a Zoom link. You must sign into the Thinkific class platform at with your username and password. You will be prompted to read through each module and click complete before moving on to the next module. Once you reach the Zoom link module, it will be accessible from within the online course platform.

What if I lost my username and password to enter the online class platform?
Your password is what you designated as such at the time that you registered for the continuing education course. If you cannot remember your Password, please select the FORGOT PASSWORD button in the lower right corner of the SIGN UP page and follow the prompts. If you cannot remember your Username, please email for further assistance.

I logged into the online course platform but can’t find the class(s) I’ve registered for?
If, once you go to the url and you do not see your name in the upper righthand corner of the page, please login again where it says SIGN IN in the upper righthand corner of the page and enter your username and password. Then select MY DASHBOARD from the menu which will bring you to the list of courses you have registered for.

I don’t know how to access either the posttest or the course evaluation?
Both the posttest and the course evaluation are included as individual modules in the course accessible through the link. You will return to the online course platform by visiting this url and using your personal email/username and password to sign in. Then you will select MY DASHBOARD to see a list of classes in your profile that you have either already completed, are in process or planned for the future. Select the course you need to complete the posttest and course evaluation for and then select RESUME COURSE. This will bring you back to the last course module you were active in. Press the COMPLETE AND CONTINUE button at the bottom to lead you to the next module to complete. You must COMPLETE AND CONTINUE on all previous modules prior to accessing the posttest and the course evaluation.

How do I obtain my certificate of completion after the course has ended?
After finishing both the Posttest and the Course Evaluation, you will receive a message congratulating you for completing the course and at the bottom of that message you can click the GET YOUR CERTIFICATE button and your CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION will be viewable, and you can choose to either COPY LINK or DOWNLOAD your Certificate of Completion. It will also be stored in your Personal Password Protected Bhava Therapy/Thinkific CE Course Account. You will also receive an email with a link to you certificate of completion.

What if I am licensed in two different states including NY and another state – Do I have to register twice?
If you are registered in NY as well as another state, please email our CE course administrator at so they can further assist you in obtaining dual certificates of completion, one for NY state and one for the other state you are licensed to practice in.


Bhava Therapy Group, #1782, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Bhava Therapy Group maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 12/09/2022 – 12/09/2025.

Course Completion Requirements:
To earn CE credit, social workers and mental health clinicians must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course and complete both the online posttest and course evaluation. Upon completion of the live course, you will be immediately prompted to complete the posttest and then the course evaluation. Once you receive a passing score of 80% or above (you will have an unlimited number of attempts to take the posttest), you will be prompted to complete the course evaluation. Participants will have a 24-hour time window from the end of the live course, within which both the posttest and the course evaluation must be completed in order to receive credit. A certificate of completion will appear within your account and you will receive an email congratulations message and link to your Certificate of Completion as well.

Refund Policy

Refunds for live in-person courses are offered up to 1 week in advance of the course start date. Refunds for live online courses are offered up to 24 hours prior to the start of the course. Refunds are issued in the original form of payment used. Any cancellations or requests for refunds after the 1 week or 24 hour window respectively are reviewed on a case by case basis. Requests for refunds or cancellation after the 1 week or 24 hour window, if granted, may qualify only as a credit for future courses not as a refund of the original payment used.

Grievance Policy

The Bhava Therapy Group Continuing Education Program (BTGCEP) aims to provide an educational experience that meets and exceeds the highest standards for professional continuing education. The BTGCEP strives to address and meet each participants’ learning needs in an easy to use, transparent, supportive and openly communicative manner with substantive and quality content and instruction.

If at any time, a participant experiences a difficulty or grievance of any kind such as access to CE course, delivery of courses, attendance to courses, quality of or level of instruction of the courses, receipt of certificates of completion and the like, the BTGCEP team commits to respond promptly and in a timely manner with as much clarity, respect for the request or expressed grievance and work to resolve the grievance in a satisfactory and integrous manner.
