FAQs

Is the focus of this class for treating anxiety in adults, teens, children or all ?
The focus of this class is mostly the adult population’s experience with anxiety although the course facilitator has experience working with anxiety in all ages and offers a variety of case examples to illustrate the lessons, some of which may be related to teens and children.

What is meant by Holistic in this class title?
Holistic is a term that refers to interconnectedness of the various parts of a whole system and in particular in this class, the whole system would be a unique human being and a holistic approach would one that considers many lifestyle factors including biological, environmental, emotional, professional and relational for instance.

Do I need a certain qualification to utilize a holistic approach in the treatment of anxiety with my clients?
The realms of discussion of taking an holistic approach to working with our clients who struggle with anxiety all fall within the bounds of how a licensed mental health clinician and social worker can practice and would not require any additional certification unless of course a particular clinician wished to pursue such. An example would be a licensed clinical social worker who was then certified as a yoga teacher or a yoga therapist.
