Expressive Arts And Experiential Exercises In The Psychotherapy Space

As therapists and counselors, talking through matters with our clients is our most relied upon method for trying to help them. But talk alone can sometimes only get us so far.  This workshop will provide space for participants to explore different ways for using creative and expressive arts techniques and experiential methods for getting to the deeper layers and clarification of issues. Learn techniques that can be used in both the teletherapy space and in-person treatment settings.

Class Objectives Include

  1. Define expressive arts and experiential practices for psychotherapy
  2. Demonstrate 8 different avenues for using expressive and experiential practices in mental health treatment
  3. Case discussion and workshop different client scenarios

12:00-12:15pm –

  • Introduction

  • Discuss and demonstrate 8 different type of expressive arts and experiential approaches including: art, music/sound, mantra, visual stimuli, writing, movement, role-play and dreams

1:15-1:30pm –

  • Question and answer/group discussion · Conclusion

Fee and Registration:

About the Instructor:
Veronica is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Bhava Therapy Group and the Social Work Consultant for the Bhava Therapy Group Continuing Education Program. Veronica received her Masters of Social Work degree and postmasters Advanced Clinical Training from New York University. She studied at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in their Clinical Fellowship Program as well as Sensory-Motor Psychotherapy for Trauma, Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy, Yoga Therapy and numerous other trainings. Veronica has over 20 years experience as a psychodynamic, somatic and experientially oriented psychotherapist, supervisor, teacher, author, administrator and consultant.

Course Completion Requirements:
To earn CE credit, social workers and mental health clinicians must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course and complete both the online posttest and course evaluation. Upon completion of the live course, you will be immediately prompted to complete the posttest and then the course evaluation. Once you receive a passing score of 80% or above (you will have an unlimited number of attempts to take the posttest), you will be prompted to complete the course evaluation. Participants will have a 24-hour time window from the end of the live course, within which both the posttest and the course evaluation must be completed in order to receive credit. A certificate of completion will appear within your bhava-therapy.thinkific.com account and you will receive an email congratulations message and link to your Certificate of Completion as well.

CE Information:
Bhava Therapy Group, #1782, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers.  State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Bhava Therapy Group maintains responsibility for this course.  ACE provider approval period: 12/09/2021 – 12/09/2022.

Bhava Therapy Group has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7242. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Bhava Therapy Group is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Refund Policy:
Refunds for live in-person courses are offered up to 1 week in advance of the course start date. Refunds for live online courses are offered up to 24 hours prior to the start of the course. Refunds are issued in the original form of payment used.  Any cancellations or requests for refunds after the 1 week or 24 hour window respectively are reviewed on a case by case basis. Requests for refunds or cancellation after the 1 week or 24 hour window, if granted, may qualify only as a credit for future courses not as a refund of the original payment used.
