Clinical Psychotherapist
(she/her/hers)
Hello! I’m Alex, and I am excited to help guide you on your journey of self-discovery. I’m a graduate of Fordham University where I received my Masters in Social Work. My previous career as an elementary school teacher led to my passion for therapy after witnessing a lack of social-emotional guidance for my students, and an increasing gap between the education system and youth mental health needs.

I have experience working in a community mental health clinic with clients of all ages, providing care for a wide range of issues such as anxiety/depression, complex trauma and PTSD, caretaker stress, low self-esteem, and familial conflict. I have also worked in a school setting, where I performed crisis intervention, supported students with intellectual disabilities, and helped children to set and achieve social-emotional and behavioral goals. Through these experiences, I have come to learn that no matter our age, all of us have an inner child that deserves healing, support, and care.

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the key to effective treatment, and use a relational approach combined with evidence-based practices when appropriate, including Internal Family Systems, Somatic Therapy, CBT, and DBT. I infuse a touch of spirituality into my practice, which I find enhances the treatment process by helping clients form deeper connections to themselves and learn what truly feels aligned to them. It is my goal for clients to leave each session feeling curious, expansive, and empowered. I look forward to helping you grow and thrive!
