Clinical supervision is a vital educational process in which a learner obtains real life and hands-on experience in the practice of psychotherapy. The process ensures that supervisees who are in the process of forming their unique identity as psychotherapists are provided with the essential ethics, values, knowledge, and skills which will help guide and inform the care they are providing towards their clients. In our complex, diverse, traumatized, and fast-paced world a strong foundation in clinical supervision has never been more important. This workshop is geared towards clinical supervisors at all stages of their career, will focus on the essential skills clinical supervisors need to guide their clinical supervisory process.

Class Objectives Include

  1. Identify the ethical and value-based elements that are part of the supervision process
  2. Describe the supervision alliance and ways to enhance it
  3.  Illustrate ways to foster the unique psychotherapeutic identity of the supervisee
  4. Show how to set clinical expectations and goals with supervisees
  5. Describe the parallel process of supervision as a model and frame for psychotherapy
  6. Explain the importance of the self-reflective process in clinical supervision
  7. Identify ways to manage and address issues related to countertransference
  8. Consider ways to personalize clinical supervision to the supervisees learning style

12:15-1:15 –

  • Presentation and discussion of key themes and learning objectives including: the supervision alliance, setting clinical expectation and goals, supporting the supervisee’s psychotherapeutic identity, the parallel process of supervision and psychotherapy, the importance of the self-reflective process in clinical supervision, managing countertransference and personalizing clinical supervision to the supervisee.

About the Instructor:
Dr. Amir Levine is Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Bhava Therapy Group. As Clinical Director of our team therapists, Dr. Levine serves as a devoted mentor, educator, mental health provider and an innovator in organizational development. Dr. Levine has presented at numerous national conferences about issues related to clinical psycho-therapeutic curriculum development, organizational development and direct patient care.

Course Completion Requirements:
To earn CE credit, social workers and mental health clinicians must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course and complete both the online posttest and course evaluation. Upon completion of the live course, you will be immediately prompted to complete the posttest and then the course evaluation. Once you receive a passing score of 80% or above (you will have an unlimited number of attempts to take the posttest), you will be prompted to complete the course evaluation. Participants will have a 24-hour time window from the end of the live course, within which both the posttest and the course evaluation must be completed in order to receive credit. A certificate of completion will appear within your account and you will receive an email congratulations message and link to your Certificate of Completion as well.

CE Information:
Bhava Therapy Group, #1782, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers.  State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Bhava Therapy Group maintains responsibility for this course.  ACE provider approval period: 12/09/2021 – 12/09/2022.

Bhava Therapy Group has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7242. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Bhava Therapy Group is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.

Refund Policy:
Refunds for live in-person courses are offered up to 1 week in advance of the course start date. Refunds for live online courses are offered up to 24 hours prior to the start of the course. Refunds are issued in the original form of payment used.  Any cancellations or requests for refunds after the 1 week or 24 hour window respectively are reviewed on a case by case basis. Requests for refunds or cancellation after the 1 week or 24 hour window, if granted, may qualify only as a credit for future courses not as a refund of the original payment used.
